Automotive Technology
Our Automotive Service Technician Foundation program will introduce you to the latest in electric and hybrid technology.
Overview
This Foundation program covers general automotive practices, fuel and electrical/electronic systems, engine performance and repair. In only 30 weeks, you will graduate with the skills and knowledge that make you highly employable within many areas of the automotive industry, including lube technician, tire repair technician, brake & muffler installer, parts person, and a broad range of other positions.
As a graduate of this program, you'll be ready to start your future employment with credit for 450 hours toward the 1,500 hours required for Level 1 AST apprenticeship.
Next up: apprenticeship
As an apprentice, you will continue to build on your skills in your speciality and gain the practical experience necessary to become fully qualified through Levels 2, 3 and 4 to get your journeyperson certificate of qualification. After Level 4 you will be eligible to write the inter-provincial Red Seal exam.
