If you have an interest in developing activities for seniors that have cognitive and physical challenges, the Activity Assistant Program could be for you.
Learn to plan and implement, under supervision, individual and group activities in a variety of settings including intermediate care facilities, assisted living settings, adult day care programs, clients' homes, seniors' centres or residential group homes. Experienced HS/RCA's who are looking for meaningful part-time and casual work are well-suited to this program.
This part-time Continuing Education program has been re-engineered to allow more flexibility for working students:
- Program runs once a year from March through June
- Classes take place at our Lansdowne Campus over six full weekends
- Extensive hands-on practice includes 120 hours of practicum over six weeks in May-June
Our next program will begin March 7, 2014. Applications are accepted year-round. Attendance at an Information Session is a participation requirement of this program. Please phone 250-370-3103 or email us for an information package.
