The Joinery/Cabinetry ACE IT partnership program will prepare you with basic woodwork skills and techniques for employment in a cabinetmaking or finishing shop. You can earn dual high school and college credits while exploring joinery/construction careers and completing your level 1 technical training.

The program
- is for Grades 11 and 12 students, and adult learners under 19 working towards graduation
- combines secondary and post secondary programming and provides dual credits
- provides 8 high school credits, industry training credit for level 1 apprenticeship, college certification and concurrent registration
Get started
Step 1: Preparation & Prerequisites
- a Secondary School Woodwork program at one of the recommended schools
- Math 11 applications or principles at C+ level, and
- 30 hours minimum work experience or a job shadow with a Joiner / Cabinetmaker
Step 2: Secondary School program
Enrol and complete joinery/cabinetry courses at one of the following schools:
- Belmont Secondary
- Claremont Secondary
- Lake Cowichan Secondary
- Lambrick Park Secondary
- Parkland Secondary
- Spectrum Community
- Stelly’s Secondary
- Victoria High
Step 3: College program @ Camosun’s Interurban campus
- 5 week program (includes evening and summer classes) after the secondary program
- offered at Camosun College Interurban Campus
- includes hands on competency based skill development and theory of joinery content
Upon completion: You will receive Joinery/Cabinetmaking level 1 apprenticeship technical training credit.

- $36.41 Application Fee
- $250 Books (approx.)
- Personal Protective Equipment & Tools
- Tuition fees are covered by the school district through ACE IT.
Note: Ancillary Fees are waived therefore registration does not include a bus pass.
