Business 140 – Business Software Applications

Business Software Applications is a three-credit transfer course. This course provides an introduction to information systems, hardware, software, networks and communication technologies as they are applied in a business context. Word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and file management software will also be introduced as well as the use of the school's computer labs including policies, networks and printing.
The course
- is offered to students in grade 12 who are prepared for college level course work
- is for students who have completed English 11 60% or assessment
- provides 4 high school and 3 college (transfer) credits and concurrent registration (high school and college)

Step 1 – Complete Application
- Students work with school counselor to complete the SIP Course application package
Step 2 – The College Course
Camosun College on campus F2F classes available for Secondary Students
- 5 seats in September and January
- Schedule and location options include
- 1) Interurban Campus - Thursdays 6:00-8:50pm
- 2) Lansdowne Campus – Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:30-6:20pm
Distributed Learning Option for Secondary Students (online delivery)
- 10 seats (September – December)
- Students complete the course supported by their secondary school Business Education Teacher in an online environment.
- There are 2 on site – face to face exams required as part of this course. Students are required to have photo ID to confirm their identity for the exams.
Upon completion: you'll receive college credits and high school credits.
Costs
- $36.41 application fee and $287.40 tuition fee (you may be sponsored by your school district—consult with career counselor for more details)
- you're responsible for text books – Exploring MS Office 2007 $134.95
