This is an introductory course to modern Korean emphasizing colloquial, spoken language. Primarily for students with minimal knowledge of Korean, this course provides a solid foundation in pronunciation, script, vocabulary, and sentence pattern. Cultural and historical notes are added to enhance understanding. Native speakers of Korean may not enrol. (T)

KORE 101 Korean Basic 2

A continuation of KORE 100, this course emphasizes daily life conversation. More time is spent on grammar, writing and reading. This course may be suitable for heritage learners and students with knowledge of spoken Korean. Cultural and historical notes are added to enhance understanding. Native speakers of Korean may not enrol. (T)

KORE 200 Second Year Korean 1

This is the third semester Korean course. This course offers continual development of reading, writing, listening and speaking skills with increased emphasis on grammar for reading, writing and vocabulary building.

This course is the continuation of KORE 200. It further develops communication skills up to an intermediate proficiency level.
