Welcome from the Director

Welcome to Camosun College and the City of Victoria!  Start with a warm and friendly atmosphere, add highly trained faculty and caring support staff dedicated to international students, and state-of-the-art facilities, and you get an educational opportunity second to none! Our personal approach to education is based on the belief that a balance between academics and practical experience will better prepare you to face the demands of an ever-changing workplace.

Camosun welcomed its first students in 1971 and adopted the name “Camosun”, a local Lekwungen (Songhees) First Nation name meaning “where different waters meet and are transformed.”  It is through individual transformations of our more than 10,000 students that we see student successes every day.

Many of our faculty come from industry to share their expertise with you. They maintain close ties with industry, keeping Camosun’s programs on the leading edge. Student success is enhanced by the excellent rapport between faculty and students. Even though our faculty are highly qualified, we deal with each other on a first-name basis in a relaxed atmosphere that contributes to academic and personal growth.

Camosun is one of the most beautiful colleges in British Columbia, with two campuses located within thirty minutes of each other. The Lansdowne Campus is located near the centre of Victoria and the University of Victoria.   The Interurban Campus combines modern facilities set in a beautiful landscape.
