WHAT: Students who arrive early will meet our Peer Connections students and international staff
January 2012 Orientation Schedule
All new students are expected to attend the entire New International Student Orientation on both January 5th and 6th, 2012. Orientation is a great opportunity to meet other new students, Camosun College International Staff and our Peer Mentors!The schedule for this two-day event is as follows:
DAY 1:
WHEN: Thursday, January 5, 2012, from 1 - 4:30 pm.
WHERE: Starting at Lansdowne Campus, Fisher Building Room 100.
WHAT: Official Welcome: This session is for all new students! Contains:
- Academic Advisor information: This session is for ELD 072/074 & 092/094, Exchange, and Program Students. We will provide a brief overview on goals, program requirements, course descriptions, Camlink, and work permit options.
- ELD Program information: This session is for students in ELD 062/064 levels and below. Learn about the ELD Program requirements, expectations and supports available to help you on your road to success!
- Living in Victoria: Our Housing Coordinator will give you a brief overview about budgeting your money and accommodation options like Homestay, Roomstay and living on your own. We'll also provide helpful resources to make sure you have a safe and comfortable place to live. This session is for all new students.
DAY 2:
WHEN: Friday, January 6, 2012, from 8:45 am - 4 pm
WHERE: Starting at Lansdowne Campus, Fisher Building Room 100.
WHAT: Come enjoy a fun day on campus lead by Camosun College International Staff and Peer Mentor students.
- Activities include: Campus Tour and Scavenger Hunt; Interactive Theatre Performance; International Student Panel; Questions and Answers with Peer Mentors; Public Bus Ride between Campuses. Gather important information about Student Services and life in Victoria that will support you in achieving your goals. All snacks and lunch will be provided.
