Swaziland

Community Mobilization

Partner: Ensigizini Orphan School

Sipho Mamba turned his own homestead into a school for 90 of the more than 400 AIDS orphans in his community. The school also aims to help local people re-establish traditional crops and learn small scale agriculture techniques. The school has become a model of community mobilization in Swaziland.

Camosun College began its relationship with the school in 2005 through the activities of the college's Africa Awareness Committee, funded by local charities. We sent two CIDA IYIP Interns to the school in 2007-08. College members have expressed a strong desire to assist his organization through various activities.
