Sustainable Environmental Development

Partner: Bimbia Bonadikombo Natural Resource Management Council

All of the Bimbia Bonadikombo Natural Resource Management Council’s activities are geared toward sustainable development. The community is located in the South West Province, in the Fako division of the Limbe subdivision of Cameroon.

Main priorities of the organization are: 1-Conservation of the forest's rich biodiversity, 2-Ecotourism, 3-Sustainable exploitation of charcoal, fuelwood, timber and non timber forest products, 4-Sustainable agriculture and agro forestry, 5-Reforestation of degraded areas, 6-Protection of water catchments, and 7-Bee farming. The overall mandate of the council is the alleviation of poverty, and sustaining the livelihood of the local community.

Camosun College and Bimbia Bonadikombo Natural Resource Management Council have been partners since 2003. The two institutions have developed a strong relationship of friendship and mutual cooperation.
