Co-operative Education (Co-op)

Co-op is offered in several of our programs. Students alternate terms or semesters of full-time study with periods of paid employment. Co-op gives you the opportunity to gain valuable Canadian work experience in your field of study, apply skills and knowledge, clarify career choices, and develop confidence. Learn more about the Camosun Co-op Program.

Working Off-Campus

International students can work up to 20 hours per week off-campus while registered in full-time study at Camosun. To work off-campus you must:

  • Have been studying in Canada for a minimum of six months
  • Be studying at an academic level - you must not be studying ESL

Learn more about the Off-Campus Work Permit Program from the Citizenship & Immigration Canada website.

Working After Graduation

After you graduate from a two- or four-year program at Camosun, you are permitted to work for up to three years within Canada. Learn more about the Post-Graduation Work Permit Program from the Citizenship & Immigration Canada website.
