Scholarships Awarded to International Students

Camosun College International (CCI) congratulates three international students on earning the 2009 CCI Academic Advancement Scholarship:

• Jonathan Gehrts - Business Administration
• Nataliya Matsko - Business Administration
• Avinash Jagwani - Business Administration

“We are always pleased to witness the high academic standards set by our international students” says Thevi Pather, Associate Director of CCI. “They are to be commended for their achievements as they have overcome the cultural and language differences that often add an extra layer of complexity to their studies”.

This is the first year of this scholarship`s existence. Each year there will be ten such scholarships worth $1000 each awarded to international students with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 7.0 or higher in their first year of academic studies. The recipients must continue on to second year studies at Camosun College.

Next year, CCI hopes more students will apply to the scholarship so that ten names will be announced. The application deadline for the 2010 CCI Academic Advancement Scholarship is February, 15, 2010.
