Canada joins over 85 countries around the globe to celebrate international education on November 16–20, 2009. In Canada, International Education Week (IEW) showcases the significant contribution that international education makes in preparing Canadians for the global world and supports our efforts to engage effectively on the international stage.

Promoting Global Citizenship is the theme for Canada's IEW 2009. International and intercultural knowledge, skills, abilities and attitudes are increasingly important for students to develop in order to live and work in a complex but increasingly integrated world. Camosun College continues to expand its range of opportunities for students to develop these competencies through such programs as study abroad, internationalized curricula, and service learning.

Camosun College International (CCI) has organized IEW 2009 celebrations as follows:

Monday, November 16

University Transfer Mini–Fair for International Students (SFU, UBC, ULeth, UVic)
An opportunity for international students to learn about their university transfer options.

Tuesday, November 17

Perceptions of Global Citizenship Engage in this student–to–student dialogue about the dynamic topic of “Global Citizenship” and the range of perceptions and assumptions within

Thursday, November 19

Camosun College International Open House
CCI will host an open house to showcase its role in representing international education within Camosun College – Study Abroad, Customized Training, International Development, Peer Connections, Homestay, International Student Services, Counselling and more.

When: 12:30 – 3pm

  CCI honours members of the college community for their support and contribution towards international education
