Communities of Practice are peer-led groups where people get together regularly for dialogue around a common area of interest. The Indigenous Education Community of Practice is for any employee who is curious about, and interested in Indigenous education/Indigenization including but NOT restricted to those who have completed TELTIN TTE WILNEW (Understanding Indigenous Peoples). You may be seeking an understanding of Indigenization, maintaining momentum, looking to spark some ideas, or simply wishing to enjoy the connection, inspiration, teaching, and learning that happens in circle. Please join us as we explore current issues related to Indigenization and Indigenous education, perhaps through discussing articles, documentaries, or a situation that arose recently in your classroom or department. Peer co-facilitated by Ruth Lyle, Dawn Smith and Patience Cox.
Contact Martha McAlister for more info or to get on the distribution list. Please check out the Community of Practice MS Teams site, which has a channel for Indigenous Education. This is a place to share resources and for ongoing dialogue and peer support.
