Camosun student services available by phone & other modes of delivery

To enable social distancing as required by the Provincial Health Officer, Camosun College has transitioned its student services to phone and other modes of delivery. This means that physical spaces associated with services will be unavailable to students.

Assessments for Placement for Camosun-bound Students

  • All face-to-face assessments are cancelled as of March 18, 2020. We are looking for options to provide assessments remotely. The college’s existing service for remote assessments, Examity, has suspended operations until further notice. Updates on assessment services will be posted on the Assessment and Testing Centre website.

    • If your course has a written evaluation (i.e., test or exam) and the format is not accessible please discuss this with your course instructor and/or seek support from your Centre for Accessible Learning Instructor.

Help Centres – for Upgrading Students

Effective March 19, Help Centres are transitioning from face-to-face tutoring to alternative methods of support. Sessions times are still in effect. Thank you for your patience as we work through the technical requirements of this change.

Library Services

  • Check out the Camosun library website to access books and articles online.  There may be a specific LibGuide for your course or program.  These guides provide specific links to online sources that will help you finish your coursework.

    AskAway is a real-time chat help service managed by the Camosun Library.  Need help with citations, finding articles online for your research paper or directions on how to format your paper? These and any other questions you have will be answered. If the librarians can’t answer your question, they will direct you to the right service.  Make sure you indicate you are a Camosun student when you start your chat.

    AskAway is currently available:
    Monday to Thursday: 9am - 9pm
    Friday: 9am - 5pm
    Saturday: 11am - 5pm
    Sunday: 10am - 9pm

Proctoring Services for External Exam Candidates

  • All appointments are cancelled and are not accepting any new exam bookings at this time.  Camosun is following directions from the host institution on how to deal with exams that have already received.

Student Records

Student Society

  • The Camosun College Student Society has moved its day-to-day operations online for the foreseeable future. Students are asked to check the website, follow the Society's Facebook page for updates and general information or send an email to

    For and Dental Plan please questions, please consult mystudentplan and use the email address. Plan member who need to make a claim or review their claims history, can continue to use the Great West Life/Canada Life portal.

    Camosun College Student Society elections are taking place remotely between April 7 and 9, with nominations closing on March 20.  Online voting information and candidate information will be sent by email to eligible voters on or prior to April 7.

Writing Centre

  • The Writing Centre and English Help Centres provide online writing consultations, Monday-Friday. Sign on to the Writing Centre online. You will be asked to submit your paper, and then a Camosun writing consultant will be in touch with you by phone or email within 48 hours.

    WriteAway is another writing support service for Camosun students. Submit your assignment or paper and then a writing consultant will connect with you. You can submit your paper 24/7, but the wait time for response may vary. Please note, we cannot proofread or edit your work.
