OHS visits to ensure everyone’s health and safety
From Facilities Services
If you’ve been on campus recently you’ll have noticed a lot of new signage, directional arrows and sanitizer to help reduce the transmission of the coronavirus. A lot of work has gone into assessing areas of the college that have been approved for on-campus instruction or other activities.
The Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) team will be doing random checks of in-person classes to ensure safety plans and protocols remain in place throughout the day. The intention is to maintain safety for everyone, not to catch people out. We fully appreciate the importance of uninterrupted teaching and learning. Faculty can place signs on the door to avoid a disruption at critical times such as exams etc.
As a reminder, students and employees need to maintain physical distancing while on campus, regularly wash their hands, stay home when sick and wear a mask in indoor public spaces as strongly recommended. Visit camosun.ca/covid19 for the most current employee FAQS and information updates or contact OHS@camosun.ca for safety-related concerns.
