We’re ready for you
From: Sherri Bell, President, Camosun College
At Camosun College, you can get the education and learning needed to help you succeed.
Whether you are returning to class in September, or taking your first steps into post-secondary education, the college is operating and committed to helping you access educational and support services. Our instructors and staff are working hard to ensure that this fall you have a great learning experience, while taking into account everyone’s safety and well being.
News that we have bent and are flattening the COVID-19 curve shows that our efforts at work and at home are paying off, although we cannot take anything for granted. Thank you to everyone for doing your part. As a result, we are planning for a mixture of online and in-person classes at Camosun in the fall semester. This approach is only possible if the Provincial Health Officer confirms that transmission rates of COVID-19 remain low or in decline.
Our courses that can be delivered entirely online will largely remain online throughout the fall semester with scheduled or self-paced choices. Courses that require access to specific on-campus resources or face-to-face delivery will be delivered in a manner that is safe for students and employees.
Over the summer months, students can access the same transitional and academic supports to prepare for classes in September. Whether it’s enhancing your English, math, science or writing skills or improving overall study skills, we have the help students need. And, our staff in Financial Aid, Admissions and the Assessment Centre are ready to help you with choosing an academic program and creating a financial plan.
Our plans for the fall will continue to put the health of our students and employees first by following the guidelines currently being developed provincially by the Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills and Training, and WorkSafe BC.
The college will do its best to provide updates as more information becomes available. Details on course delivery will be shared shortly.
As we face these challenges together, I would like to truly thank you for your patience, understanding and resilience.
Take care, stay healthy.
Sherri Bell, President
