Camosun introduces remote working for employees to enhance social distancing

Thank you for your continued patience, support and understanding during this complex and challenging time.

Camosun continues to work to develop ways to align with guidance from the Provincial Health Officer to promote social distancing to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus, while remaining open.

On March 19, to further enhance social distancing among employees and on campus, Camosun is implementing a plan for employees who can work remotely. Similar to the transition away from face-to-face instruction and assessment, the college recognizes there is no single approach to advancing social distancing in the workplace. The approach allows for the transition of student services from face-to-face to phone, online or other virtual methods. Departmental leaders and teams are asked to use their professional judgement to introduce remote work capabilities.

Remote working, similar to the face-to-face transition of instruction and assessment, is a temporary measure and is in place until further notice. We appreciate the patience of our college community as we finalize the resources for workplace leaders and teams. We intend to have this posted as soon as possible.

In the meantime, employees who can work remotely are encouraged to do so subject to approval from their supervisor. The following information is available to assist:

Please continue to check college’s COVID-19 website and FAQs for updates.
