Camosun on the West Shore
Camosun has temporarily suspended the delivery of its courses at Belmont High School in Langford until September 2021. The difficult decision was made due to the school’s need for physical space in addition to the uncertainty created by COVID-19.
Upgrading programs and courses are still available tuition-free for domestic students with grants available to cover the cost of textbooks and fees for eligible students. Due to COVID-19 concerns, all scheduled courses, regardless of location, will be delivered in an online or alternative delivery format until further notice.
Camosun remains committed to supporting learners living in the West Shore communities. Currently, the college is looking at leasing space to deliver two programs for local learners. The Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills and Training has provided targeted funding for start-up activities to support a Health Care Assistant cohort and Educational Assistant and Community Support cohort. The programs are expected to start in fall 2020. Additional information will be provided as details become available.
The latest college-related information on COVID-19 and frequently asked questions that are regularly updated are available at camosun.ca/covid19.

Accessing the Camosun Bookstores
In response to the COVID-19 developments, campus Bookstores are closed to the public until further notice. We continue to serve the college community through online sales. Our goal is to ensure the health and safety of students and employees by reducing the need of face-to-face interactions.
For the summer semester most textbooks will be available in a digital format. You will be able to purchase these books online through the bookstore. You will have the option to buy the book at full cost for unlimited, perpetual access or rent it for a more limited time at a much lower cost.
In some instances, a digital textbook will not be available. If this is the case for your course, you will be able to order a physical copy. For the summer semester the college is providing free shipping.
By April 14, the summer course materials list will be available on the Bookstore website, along with updated procedures for textbook sponsorships, Financial Aid and returns.
Students registered with the Centre for Accessible Learning should contact the centre as soon as possible to ensure course materials are ready for the start of the semester.
Thank you for your patience and please contact us at anytime if you have any questions. We are here to support you!
