The Certificate in Travel Counselling program helps prepare you for a variety of entry level positions within the travel industry. This can include; travel agent, tourist information, airport customer service, airline ticket agent, overseas tour guide, air cargo, hotel guest services.
This comprehensive training program follows the Canadian Institute of Travel Counsellors (CITC) core curriculum, the standard set by the Canadian travel industry, and has been endorsed as a Three Star program. Curriculum is based on relevant skills including airline ticketing, airfares, world geography, tours, cruises, hotels, car rentals, insurance, job readiness skills, computer reservations, accounting, sales and marketing.
This full-time, 21 week program offers a variety of learning experiences using a combination of classroom work, computer labs, and practical application. Basic keyboarding/computer skills recommended prior to enrollment.
Attendance at a free information session is a requirement for admission.
All students must submit a College admission application and must have Grade 12 graduation including a C grade minimum in English 12 or ENG 092 or ELD 092 or assessments.
