Bartending is a job unlike any other. In this hands-on course, based on standards set by the Canadian Tourism Human Resource Council, you will gain the skills and knowledge you will need to enter the world of bartending. Topics include: setting up the bar, stocking and bar management, terminology, LCB rules and your responsibilities, and customer service. Tuition includes course materials.
Prerequisite: Serve it Right (Server) certificate; must be 19 years of age.

Cooking classes include both hands-on and demonstrations to help students learn proper culinary arts techniques while enjoying a fun and creative kitchen environment.
Cooking: Mexican Taco Party
Back by popular demand! A fun cooking class devoted to producing authentic Mexican flavours. Learn to use traditional ingredients to make a variety of mouth-watering dishes. Students will work in groups of two to create a taco party meal. The focus in class will be on preparing soft masa tacos with several deliciously authentic fillings and condiments, including grilled flank steak, spiced beans, and homemade green and red salsas. Thai Cooking - Basic
Join celebrated Chef Heidi Fink for a taste of Thailand as she guides you through the flavours and aromas of one of her favourite cuisines. Thai cooking seems complex, but many delicious Thai dishes are simple and accessible to the average home cook. Learn how to get the most out of basic ingredients and techniques. During the class, we will make and eat foods such as Thai street food lettuce wraps, hot and sour shrimp soup, red coconut chicken curry, and mango-coconut sticky rice. Sparkling with vibrant flavours, these recipes are easily made at home. Allergy Alert - Menu contains shrimp and peanuts. Please bring a 10" chef's knife, a vegetable peeler, a paring knife and an apron to class. Class size is limited and early registration is recommended!
