Camosun 5-year energy plan exceeds greenhouse gas targets by 400% Thurs, 9 May 2013
Camosun's five-year energy management plan concluded on a high note March 31, greatly exceeding its targets and contributing over $2.7 Million to the fiscal bottom line in avoided costs and new equipment/infrastructure. This success clearly demonstrates how energy conservation can enhance operating budgets while maintaining a vibrant, productive and livable work/study environment for students and staff. (more...)

Camosun students’ eco-research helps Town of Esquimalt Mon, 15 Apr 2013
A team of Camosun students recently took first-place in a Capital Regional District climate change learning competition, “Ready, Set, Solve.” The annual contest hosted by the CRD challenges post-secondary students from Camosun, the University of Victoria and Royal Roads to develop creative, innovative approaches to solving real-world problems. Important notice: Job action set for 10:45 – 1:15 this Friday Wed, 28 Nov 2012
Camosun support workers (CUPE 2081) have indicated that job action will be occurring for a brief time this upcoming Friday, November 30. However, the action will be directed at a local MLA office and will not happen on campus. As there will be no pickets on campus, this will result in NO disruption of classes but could impact most services. As a result College services may be limited or closed between 10:45am and 1:15pm. The College regrets any inconvenience this may cause. (more...)

Four Camosun business students took the top prize at the sixth annual Certified Management Accountants Society of BC case competition held at SFU earlier this month. Competing against 30 other teams of first- and second-year students from BC's universities and colleges, the Camosun team demonstrated exceptional management skills by analyzing a fictional business case of Sarah's Antiques. Camosun College will receive up to $943,000 in Employment Skills Access funding to train eligible clients in six targeted job-readiness programs. Seventeen deserving Camosun College students each received a $5,000 Ike Barber BC Transfer Scholarship recognizing their excellent academic achievement and community service. The Irving K. Barber Scholarship Society, named for the BC philanthropist and founder of Slocan Forest Products Ltd., encourages students to start their post-secondary studies at a local public institution like Camosun College, then transfer to a degree-granting institution in BC to complete their four-year bachelor degree.
