Special consideration
If you or any of your guests require special consideration (mobility, parking, visual, auditory), please provide details to your school's office by June 11, 2010.
Gowns, Regalia and Dress Code
We are pleased to provide graduation caps and gowns at no charge. Typical dress code is semi-formal. Flowers, jewellery or emblems should not be attached to the gown.
If you belong to an Aboriginal nation, the military, or are from another country, you may choose to wear your regalia, uniform or national dress in place of the graduation gown.
Gown pick-up
PISE Building, room 329, Interurban campus (map)
- Option 1 (recommended)—Thursday, June 17, any time between 9am - 7pm. Pay parking is available in lot P-8. Picking up your gown Thursday is useful for formal photos and helps avoid any pre-ceremony delays.
- Option 2 – Graduation day, Friday, June 18, from 9:30am
Gown return
Please return your gown before leaving the PISE building after the ceremony. You may keep your cap.
Personal belongings and valuables
Please leave your purse and other valuables with your guests or at home. We don’t have a secure place to hold your possessions.
Cancelling your graduation plans
If you have registered to attend grad but need to cancel, please let us know. To cancel, just contact your school's office as soon as possible.
Photography during the ceremony
Family and friends
Guests are welcome to use the reserved photography section in front of the stage to snap a photo as you graduate.
Professional photography
This year—for the first time!—professional photography services will be available for those graduates who want them. Artona, official grad photographer for many colleges and universities across Canada will be on hand to take your photo, and will contact you later with an option to buy (there’s no obligation to buy anything, of course!).
Artona looks forward to seeing you at grad before, during and after the ceremony, and they will be available for individual and family portraits on a first-come, first-served basis. Arrangements will be made on site.
Programs
Programs will be available at the ceremony. You may request extra copies from your school’s office after grad.
Floral bouquets
Fresh-cut, high-quality floral bouquets will be available for purchase from Convocation Flowers Inc., on graduation day. Stop by the Welcome Tent to select from a wide range of colourful bouquets and roses—prices start at $15.
