Academic procession
Once you've checked in and put on your gown, you'll be seated in order with your fellow graduates. Graduation volunteers will be there to assist you. Ensure that you retain your name card for handing to the stage usher.
The academic procession is scheduled to start on time. All graduates will need to be in their assigned seats to start the procession. The procession is led by the dias, faculty and graduates. Faculty marshals in full regalia will lead each section of the procession.
Once you've been seated, you will be asked to sing O Canada. Wear your cap during the National Anthem even though dignitaries on stage may remove theirs.
Walking across the stage
When it's time for graduates in your program to cross the stage, you'll be escorted by an usher to the appropriate location. It is essential that you bring your name card for announcing your name on stage. You will hand your name card to the usher standing at the stage. Pause while your name is being announced, cross the stage and shake hands with the College president. As you leave the stage you will be welcomed to the Camosun College Alumni Association and handed an Alumni Pin. Return to your seat.
