Minds were challenged, safety standards laid down and teamwork and creativity encouraged as the spring break session of DiscoverTech@Camosun. However, the true exploration, understanding and enthusiasm for the worlds of technology and engineering were ignited by hands-on learning!

And that happens when bottle rocket launchers and Lego Mind Storm robots are designed and activated with gusto during DiscoverTech@Camosun at the Interurban campus. Plus much more!

The spring break version of DiscoverTech@Camosun was a fun and action-packed three days for students in Grades 6 to 12 to learn what engineering technology is, and how it can lead to a wide choice of high-tech careers.

"I'm amazed how engaged the students were with their daily projects," says April Atkins, promotions assistant for Camosun's School of Trades and Technology. "What's really cool is how much they learn while playing, basically discovering what engineering is all about."

The popular week-long DiscoverTech@Camosun for Grades 9 to 12 is also offered in July each year through Continuing Education.
