Vic High R&B Band
Camosun's ACP students are taking their new skills out of the practice studio and into the real world of live production. They've lined up a couple of great concerts to record and they invite you to part of the audience. Enjoy a show by the Vic High Rhythm & Blues Band and/or chamber music by students from the Victoria Conservatory of Music (VCM).
Requested as an opening act for a number of R&B legends, the Vic High R&B Band impresses audiences wherever they play. Their energetic program offers professionalism, great choreography and an upbeat song list. As a district-wide program designed for those wanting to pursue a career in music, the program also accepts auditions from grade 9 to 12 students from schools other than Vic High.
The VCM concert offers classical repertoire by a variety of gifted chamber music groups. VCM is well known for nurturing outstanding performers through excellence in music education and partners with Camosun to offer a Diploma in Music and a Diploma in Jazz Studies.
Tickets are $5 for each show, with only 125 available:

All proceeds go Victoria's new Access Health Centre. Offering an array of medical services under one roof, they cater to Victoria's most marginalized population including the homeless, the drug-addicted, the mentally ill, and people with HIV/AIDS.
"We want to give back to the community, and the Access Health Center is a brilliant new addition to Victoria's downtown core," says Brett Blair, ACP student and part of the concert organizing team.
ACP grads enjoy careers in TV, radio, print and electronic publishing, journalism, photography and public relations. This two-year diploma includes a combination of academic and technical training in labs and studios, and internships.
Shaw cable community television will be loaning a video production mobile to help record the Vic Hi Concert. This concert series is thanks to the support of Camosun's School of Arts and Science.
