This fall, WestShore residents can take Camosun courses without driving into town.
August 5, 2010
Camosun College is offering two of its most popular university transfer courses at the WestShore Learning Centre Annex, 2139 Sooke Road.
- Psychology 130 – Contemporary Issues (PSYC 130-004)
Wednesday evenings, from September 8-December 8 - English 150 – English Composition (ENGL 150-019)
Monday evenings, from September 13-December 6
“Camosun is a community college, and our community definitely includes the WestShore,” says Deanna Roosendaal, Associate Dean of Arts at Camosun College. “In fact, we’re interested in offering even more courses there in the future.”
English 150 is equivalent to first year university English and transfers into every BC university and college. It is a required course within many of Camosun’s diploma programs, such as Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Environmental Technology, Nursing, and Sport Management, just to name a few. As a prerequisite for many post-secondary courses, it opens academic doors in all areas of humanities, social sciences and degree programs.
Psychology 130 is relevant for many areas of study and transfers to UVic and other universities throughout BC. It covers major issues in psychology and considers their historical origins. Topics include: personality, abnormal behaviour, and social interactions.
Tuition for each course is $241.20 plus application and ancillary fees, plus textbooks. More information online or email artsci@camosun.bc.ca.
