Camosun College Business Club hosts entrepreneurs at November 26 Fundraiser

Three Victoria area business professionals and entrepreneurs will share their expertise with Camosun College business students and the public on November 26 at the Interurban campus.

Camosun College’s student business club, Delta Epsilon Chi (DEC), will host Kael Campbell, President, Red Seal Recruiting; Johnny Mavrikos, Small Business Advisor for TD Canada Trust; and Kevin Smith, President, Maple Leaf Adventures at a panel event. Under discussion – what it takes to make a business successful in the current economic landscape.

DEC is an international student group that supports business education while actively supporting the community. Camosun’s DEC branch has been highly successful in fundraising and in international business competitions.

Profiles

Kevin Smith, President of Maple Leaf Adventures, has operated his internationally recognized adventure tourism company since 2001.He is also a Director of the Commercial Bear Viewing Association of BC and the Wilderness Tourism Association of BC. He holds a geography degree from the University of Victoria and has worked as a park ranger and an ecotourism instructor. Mr. Smith is a pioneer in green incentives and social responsibility and in 2009 his company was recognized as one of the top 3 adventure cruise companies on earth by National Geographic Adventures.

Kael Campbell, President of Red Seal Group, has a Bachelor in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management and a specialization in social psychology. Before starting Red Seal Group ltd., Mr. Campbell was an Industrial Relations Supervisor at Western Pulp and an Employment Standards Officer at the Ministry of Labour. Red Seal Group ltd specializes in the recruitment, placing and mentoring of international professionals seeking employment in Canada.

Ioannis (Johnny) Mavrikos will be joining us from TD Canada Trust’s Small Business Advisory group to share his entrepreneurial insight from a unique perspective.
