The final numbers for the Camosun United Way 2013 campaign are in! Thanks to your support, we raised $85 103.71 for the Greater Victoria United Way. Congratulations Camosun on a successful campaign!

The Camosun United Way 2013 Campaign has wrapped up, and the time to reflect on what makes a successful campaign is upon us. Over the years, our campaign has been able to continuously meet goals in the face of a tough financial climate and equally important, create and expand awareness throughout the college community.

This year was no different – with your support, we increased our participation and fundraising levels. We saw new initiatives that sparked conversations and led to an energized campaign that will continue to build the fundraising culture in our workplace environment. Your efforts have directly helped provide the United Way Greater Victoria with the resources to make a real difference in our community. Thank you for making our workplace an Agent of Change.

An extra special thank you to all the donors, sponsors and supporters. Without you, there would be no campaign. Please read a personal note from campign Co-Chairs Sybil Harrison and Carter MacDonald on our Sponors and Thanks page.

Stay tuned for ongoing events and updates, and how you can get involved for next year's campaign.

Into the New Year

While the campaign is wrapping up, there are other ways to be involved throughout the year. Stay tuned for special events, the United Way Greater Victoria Spirit Awards, and the Measuring Up report which will show us how our funds were utilized in the community. You can stay in touch through our website, social media and just by keeping the conversation alive in the college!

Million Dollar Milestone

Camosun has a long history helping the United Way transform lives. At the start of the campaign, the college community had raised a total of $957,075 since electronic records began in 1994. Thanks to your donations, we have raised over one million dollars!

Although one million dollars is a major milestone, $82 500 is our ultimate goal for the 2013 campaign. In spite of a tough economic climate, Camosun has continuously met and surpassed our goals. It is during these difficult times that the United Way needs our support the most.

Thanks a million Camosun!

Are you an agent of change?

This year’s community campaign is themed Agent of Change and is set to raise $6 Million for the three impact areas: All that kids can be, From poverty to possibilities and Strong communities. Agents of change have been handed three missions:

  • Mission 1: Ensure kids and youth grow up healthy and achieve success
  • Mission 2: Break the cycle of poverty and move people toward the world of possibility
  • Mission 3: Create opportunities and places for social interaction in our neighbourhoods

Community-building lies at the heart of the college, and Camosun is proud to be working with the United Way. Check out some of Camosun's very own Agents of Change.
