Carpooling
Eligibility for Camosun’s Carpool Program is met by any vehicle containing two or more registered persons (including the driver) arriving in the same registered carpool vehicle, where the occupants would normally be driving and parking as individuals. The vehicle and all occupants are to be currently registered in the Carpool program.
Vehicles displaying a carpool permit are exclusively permitted to park in the signed prime carpool spots at both campuses; Lot 6 at Lansdowne (map) and Lot 5 at Interurban before 9am (map). If designated spots are full, carpool vehicles may park anywhere in the General Lots.
The cost of the meter ticket is the same to park in these prime spots, but it can be shared among vehicle occupants! To register, simply show College Cashiers (Dawson Building at Lansdowne, Campus Centre at Interurban) a valid Camosun id for all occupants and license plate number for all vehicles participating.
Looking for a carpool buddy?
Try Camosun’s online Ride-Share Matching service provided by the Jack Bell Foundation and Ride-Share.com
This service is available for staff, students and faculty at Camosun. You can choose to match with everyone at Ride-Share.com or you can choose to only match with others at Camosun. Registration is open to members with an email address.
Tip: Even if you drive or carpool, keep back-up bus schedules or have a plan B so you won’t miss activities due to car troubles or a missed ride.
