Hosted annually by the Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, Walls Optional is the college's premiere teaching and learning event.

This free conference is open to everyone: instructors, instructional and lab assistants, support staff and administrators.

This year, the theme is the intersections between space and learning, with keynote speaker Adam Finkelstein from McGill University.

The Chair Academy offers leaders, from around the world, an exciting opportunity for leadership development at its annual conference. The goal of the conference is to provide programs that specifically address the various administrative, and academic needs of organizational leaders. It provides a forum for participant interaction and networking, and recognizes exemplary leadership and leaders.

Providing its participants with over 60 concurrent and round-table sessions to choose from; skill-building workshops to learn new practical leadership skills and information; and internationally recognized keynote speakers, who inspire and inform, the Chair Academy Conference is great resource for any organizational leader.

As an Academy member, Camosun employees are eligible for the member registration rate of $600 USD. Single day rates of $300 USD and pre-conference skill building workshop rates of $125 USD are also available.

The CICan Conference is coming to Victoria in 2018!

Our time comes together as one—as one community committed to excellence in education delivery, community building, innovation and leading change locally, nationally and globally.

The 2018 conference is hosted by Camosun College in partnership with CICan.

Early bird registration is open until March 15, 2018. Camosun College employees can register as CICan members. Please check with your PD committee for funding assistance.

Note  The CCFA has a modified PD application process for this conference:

  • Submit the regular short-term application form to the CCFA office at least one month before the conference. Ensure that you have the necessary signatures on the form: the faculty member, the chair, and the dean and include the amount of funding you are applying for (the registration fee).
  • You don't need to provide a detailed rationale or submit the conference documentation with your application.
