Prototyping & Consultation
Camosun is ideally suited to helping companies with research, development and innovation. You'll have access to hundreds of highly skilled faculty and students who are passionate about working on industry related projects. Camosun has outstanding laboratory facilities, as well as mechanical and electronic prototyping equipment.
There are a number of ways we can help you. From student projects to fee for service and partnerships, we work with you to find a way to meet the needs of your company.
Fee for service
We provide the personnel and experience and equipment to build your prototype or help with R&D or testing. This service is provided on a competitive fee per-hour basis.
Partnership opportunities
Do you want ongoing help to develop new technology? Are you looking for an R&D partner? We can help. Partnerships usually involve long-term relationship where Camosun staff contribute time and technical expertise in exchange for a share in revenue proportional to the contribution. This is ideal for start-up businesses, where cash-flow is an issue and Camosun can add real value to their business offerings.
Student projects
If you can fit your development into our student project schedule, then this can be a great way to involve students. By doing so you are contributing to your community and helping to educate the people who will be working in your field. Who knows… you might even be test-driving a potential employee. Our students are enthusiastic and operate under the supervision of highly skilled faculty. Student projects take place towards the end of the students' programs. Please note: We have a wonderful relationship with local industry. The services we offer are not intended to compete with industry, rather to complement what is available locally. We charge competitive rates for services not normally available to small business or inventors. We offer the opportunity to build your relationship with our faculty and the students that we hope will become your employees.
