Take action!
Take the Energy Pledge
Turning things off didn't end at Earth Hour and our focus on saving energy still goes on. Remember to turn things off when you can and take the Camosun Energy Pledge to demonstrate your commitment.
In 2008, I Pledge To:
- Turn off monitors when not in use, even if just 15 minutes
- Shut down computers weekends & holidays
- Turn off lights when not in use, even if just 15 minutes
Send your commitment to energyawareness@camosun.bc.ca.
Energy Champions – Be a Part of the Change
The true success of our energy savings will come with the participation of our campus community – that’s you and me. Do your part in energy efficiency and sign up as an Energy Champion – it doesn’t have to take up much of your time.
What sort of things can Energy Champions do?
This really depends on what sort of department, school or environment you’re in but could include:
- Encouraging quick fixes like turning off lights and switching off monitors and computers;
- Auditing buildings monthly in the evening to check on lights, computers, power bars, etc
- Educating others and sharing tips on conversing energy in the workplace and at home
- Distributing prizes, posters, and supporting energy project awareness campaigns.
What is the College’s role?
We can’t meet our goals without you and our Energy Project Team will provide training and support to ensure you have the information and tools to be an Energy Champion.
