Our Values in Action
Camosun College is a community that works hard to make sure its values and priorities come alive in how we learn and work together. Our commitments reflect what’s important to us and strongly influence our institutional culture. They guide Camosun with each topic drawing us deeper into transformational change through learning, action and reflection.
About Camosun
Applied Learning
At Camosun College, applied learning is an approach to education that reflects the complexity of the rapidly changing world around us.
Indigenization
Indigenization is the process by which Indigenous ways of knowing, being, doing and relating are incorporated into educational, organizational, cultural and social structures of the institution.
Interdisciplinary Education
At Camosun, we know that the process in which two or more disciplines purposely interact – interdisciplinary education – is paramount to student success. This interactive process allows students in each discipline to learn with, learn from, and learn about each other.
Protection of Privacy
Camosun is committed to protecting the privacy of both our students and our employees. It is Camosun College’s goal to not only meet the requirements of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act but to exceed the requirements by implementing “best practices” with respect to the collection, use and disclosure of personal information.
Sexual Violence Support and Education
Camosun College is committed to creating and maintaining a healthy learning and working environment in which sexual violence and misconduct is not tolerated.
Student Health and Wellbeing
Camosun’s Student Mental Health and Well-being Strategy was developed to advance the recognition of the importance mental well-being plays in our students’ college experience.
Sustainability
Sustainability is a corner post of Camosun College’s Strategic Plan. The goal is to provide leadership and support on key social, environmental, and economic issues impacting the college.
