RSS? What’s that?

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication and is an easy way to help save time on the Intertubes.

When you subscribe to an RSS feed on a website, blog or a webpage, every time something new is put on that page you’re alerted.

Let’s get started!

Step 1: Sign up for or download an RSS reader. You need to have a home where you can read the new posts— your RSS reader. Several different online readers are available for free:

Most web browsers and email programs, including Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Outlook and Thunderbird can read RSS feeds as well.

Step 2: Set up a subscription to our RSS feed. Just look for the RSS icon and click it Example RSS icon. The feed with either open in your chosen RSS reader, or your computer will offer you a choice of how to save the subscription..

Manually adding an RSS feed to Outlook 2007

  1. Copy the URL of the RSS feed.
  2. Under Tools menu, click Account Settings
  3. On the RSS Feeds tab, click New.
  4. In the New RSS Feed dialog box, type or press Ctrl+V to paste the URL of the RSS Feed. For example, http://camosun.ca/about/careers/_documents/employment.xml.
  5. Click Add.
  6. Click OK.

That’s it…you’re all set up to start receiving new posts as soon as we upload them. It’s that simple!
