2011 marked our inaugural year of the Inspiring Lives Recognition night and the Dedicated Service Dinner. Our formal recognition ceremonies are a wonderful time to express our thanks for the long service and excellence that is so apparent within the Camosun college community.

Inspiring Lives Recognition • November 24, 2011
Inspiration at the college is seen in passionate members of our own community connecting within the college and the greater community. Members recognized at this event have shown how true change can occur through working with others. Daring to lead, these employees strengthen our four pillars, the mission, vision, and values that guides our success. Through innovative programs, outstanding practices in teaching, engaged partnerships and more, our employees excel at creating a life-changing place to work!
A stand-up reception started off this night, with time to chat and mingle, to bask in the glow of a job well done. A recognition ceremony followed, to formally express our sincere thanks.

Dedicated Service Dinner • November 29, 2011
Reaching 20, 25, 30, and 35 years of dedicated service, Camosun employees know how to show true dedication. This year we have had the great privilege to recognize employees who have served the College since its inception 40 years ago, a long and wonderful stretch of their respective careers.
A sit-down dinner was the way to go this year, offering an intimate gathering for fellow milestone employees to share in. Gifts for each milestone, our token of appreciation, were presented to each employee and pictures taken to capture the spirit of the night.

Camosun Celebrates! the first iteration of employee recognition, was developed into the formal program designed by employees for use by employees. Created in 2003 by a volunteer development committee, the program began based on a peer-recognition approach, providing multiple opportunities for peers, colleagues, co-workers, and supervisors to recognize the public and 'behind-the-scenes' contributions and achievements of one another.
