Camosun College is a public post-secondary institution. The Board of Governors administers the college on behalf of the government of BC and the Ministry of Advanced Education, as legislated by the College and Institute Act.
The board has four standing committees. Only the board in its entirety can make board decisions. The committees assist the board in decision-making by bringing recommendations.
The executive committee makes recommendations to the board in the areas of the board's role, student appeals, policy proposals, emergency situations, and establishing ad hoc committees.
The finance committee is responsible for significant financial planning, managing and reporting matters for the college.
The committee makes recommendations to the board in the areas of the annual operating and capital budgets, the annual financial information act requirements, and the tuition fee increases.
The purpose of the board audit committee is to assist the board to fulfill its financial accountability and oversight responsibilities.
