Sandra Lacroix, Instructional Assistant

Tansi! I am Cree from Swan River Nation in Kinuso, Alberta on my father’s side and French on my mother’s side.

I moved here from Alberta after completing my degree in Canadian History. In 2005, I completed Camosun's First Nation Family Support Worker program (now Indigenous Family Support). I was hired as an Instructional Assistant for Academic Upgrading at the Victoria Native Friendship Centre and at Bridges for Women. (Both of these organizations are part of Camosun's Community Learning Partnerships.) It's been a busy time as I have just completed my graduate degree in Counselling in Aboriginal Communities!

I really enjoy working with students as they discover their own potential and their own strength. I have learned so much from the work I do and the people with whom I work with. I am truly grateful to do what I do in such a beautiful city and in Coast Salish Territory.
