Aboriginal Education Awards
All Aboriginal Education & Community Connections (AECC) awards have the following requirements:
- Aboriginal (First Nations, Métis, Inuit, or Native American) ancestry
- Full-time student or equivalent
- GPA of 2.5 or equivalent (exception–Anthany Dawson Award)
- Completed application form, including all additional criteria
There are some important things to think about when you are getting ready to apply for an Aboriginal Award.

Treasure Box Award in Memory of James Dick
We raise our hands to the late Dorothy Price who left us the ability to offer this award, and we remember with love and gratitude, Jim Dick, who was a teacher to our department, who welcomed us to this land and work.
Criteria
- Available to students who are knowledgeable and generous with cultural teachings
- Self-written letter outlining the student's educational goals and work with culture and sharing culture
- Letter of reference from community member talking about student's commitment to education and dedication to culture
- Agreement to attend the Welcoming Feast in September
- Financial need given some consideration
